The transaction price of DMC largely rose due to the increasing orders and demand. The price of silicon metal fell slightly, the price of methyl chloride continued dropping, but that of methanol fluctuated moderately. The production cost of DMC reduced. Since the major silicone producers raised their prices, and the downstream firms increased inventory under the expectation of price increase, the silicone market price is slated to go up in the near future.
As to the domestic price of fumed silica, it showed stability. The prices of monomethyltrichlorosilane (MTCS) and silicon tetrachloride (STC) fluctuated slightly. Since the production cost of fumed silica was raised and the downstream customers increased willingness to buy products, the fumed silica market price is projected to run well in the short term.
With regard to the silicon metal, its price dropped slightly this week, with the few transaction volume. Partial silicon metal producers reduced prices to sell due to inventory pressure. To the supply side, silicon metal factories in the southern region maintained low operation rate, while those in the northern region gradually resumed production and were opening new furnaces. For the demand, the silicone monomer producers had growing demand of silicon metal.
This week saw the overall stable transaction price of N-type polysilicon. Currently, most of polysilicon enterprises are negotiating orders, with a few transaction volume. The price of N-type polysilicon is still high, and that of P-type one is inclined to rise.
