Silicone
This week, the price of DMC was generally stable and rose in some areas. The demand of silicone recovered slowly, and the conduction on the demand side was not smooth, coupled with downstream sectors ending replenishment. The price of DMC stopped rising and stabilize. The price of silicon metal was stable, while that of methanol and methyl chloride fell slightly, and the cost of DMC remained stable. The prices of raw materials rose in the week, raising the production cost. The price of OH polymer, gum and HCR rose, while that of silicone fluid was stable. With the downstream demand still recovering, it is expected that the price of silicone will be stable in the short term.
Fumed silica
This week, the domestic fumed silica market showed positive signs. Some enterprises raised their quotations. In terms of raw materials, the price of STC rose slightly, while that of MTCS became stable. With the resumption of production in the downstream sectors, the demand of fumed silica improved. The price of STC went up, causing cost pressure on enterprises. The fumed silica market is expected to remain stable in the short term.
Silicon metal
The domestic price of industrial silicon stopped falling and stabilized this week, and the market transaction improved significantly. For the demand, polysilicon enterprises had high operating rate, and the new production capacity of polysilicon continued to be released. The demand for industrial silicon in the polysilicon sector continued to increase. The downstream enterprises, such as in the infrastructure and house construction sectors, have resumed production, driving the price of DMC and profits in the silicone producers. The demand for industrial silicon in the silicone sector increased. In addition, the demand for industrial silicon in aluminum alloy producers has warmed up again. Amid the growing demand for industrial silicon in the three downstream sectors, the silicon metal producers intends to raise price.
Polysilicon
This week, the domestic price of polysilicon rose slightly for two main reasons. On one hand, most polysilicon enterprises have already signed till the end of February, and even some enterprises already over-signed orders. In the week, most of the orders were the continuation of previous orders with a stable or slightly increased price. On the other hand, all links in the front end of the back industrial chain basically had relatively reasonable profit margins. Driven by the two preconditions of profits and existing order, the stable demand in the short term ensured a slight increase in the price of polysilicon.
